Welcome to our Mechelen Co-housing 'Cocoen'. We try to be the most complete and luxurious co-housing in Mechelen. Our house is located a stone's throw from the station in a quiet neighborhood. In the meantime, we have been co-housing here for 2 years with 3 to 5 people. (some housemates are often away) From February 1/March, a large room of 20m will become available. After 2 years, one of our housemates will move to Canada for work. The room is not furnished. But it is possible to take over furniture if desired. (housemate moves to Canada) The room comes to 725 EUR per month + 125 EUR common costs = 850 EUR/month. The use of the house, wellness and all common appliances is included. Think of washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, mixers, smoothie makers, Nespresso coffee machine, regular coffee machine, oven/microwave, steam oven, toaster, kettle, panini machine, cutlery, glasses... If something is missing, it will simply be purchased.
Common parts
Our house has 4 floors with 2 bedrooms and 3 studios. Everyone has their own bathroom. The house has 3 toilets, large office space, living room with fireplace, comfy couch, brand new TV with Bose system, internet, Netflix and Amazon Prime. We have a large kitchen with 2 large refrigerators and one freezer, all the appliances you need for a 3-course meal, large homemade design dining table for 8 people (ideal when you have visitors) and a cozy round table (also homemade) for 4 in the morning. We also have a laundry room, a spacious garden with lots of plants and flowers and birds, covered terrace with lounge chair and jacuzzi. And there is also an indoor swimming pool with pool house with sauna and steam bath. We also have green fingers and try to grow our own tomatoes, herbs and vegetables in the garden. The common costs are shared by the 5 residents and come to 125 EUR/person. This includes water, gas, electricity, unlimited internet, streaming and our cleaning lady who comes by every two weeks. You don't have to worry about cleaning products, toilet rolls, garbage bags, taking out the garbage and trips to the container park. Talking about a hotel service... :) You can park your bike and car in the driveway. Oh yes, I forgot: We live in a very social street with great neighbors!
